Fort Lauderdale, FL, August 13, 2019 –(PR.com)–Team SAIL LAST came together very well with a wide ranging crew from four countries and ages from 8 to 75. The countries represented aboard Africa included America, Argentina, Columbia, and Denmark. For Block Island Race Week 2019 SAIL LAST also had four crew that had never been sailing, let alone racing in a major event. Winning the first place overall for this regatta with a first-run crew was extraordinary.
Expanding the sport of sailing to include youth non-sailors and elderly sailors is the SAIL LAST mission. So far, SAIL LAST youth sailors graduate and go on to one design IC24 and 420 racing. The SAIL LAST jib tailor, ten year old youth sailor Lexi said, “Sailing and winning on Africa in BIRW was wonderful! I can’t wait to do more activities like this in the future.”
SAIL LAST continues to participate and expand the sport and needs your help. SAIL LAST leadership includes collegiate sailors, lifetime racers and their Director is a licensed Merchant Mariner US Coast Guard Captain.
